Privacy Policy

Your files never leave your device

Scanning a card, recovering files from it, repairing them and previewing the result are performed 100% locally on your phone. The app does not upload, transmit, or store your photos, videos or any other file on any server. We never see them. There is no account and no sign-in, and there is no server for a file to be sent to. Every feature works with the network switched off.

Your source card or drive is never written to

When the app reads a memory card through a USB‑OTG reader, it issues read commands only. There is no code path in the app that writes to an attached card or drive. Recovered files are written into the app's own private storage on the phone, never back onto the source.

Recovered and repaired copies stay in that private storage so you can preview them before deciding. They are replaced when you recover another file, and nothing is written to your gallery or shared anywhere unless you choose to share it yourself.

Data we collect

The app itself collects no personal information. It never reads your file names or file contents off the device, and it never transmits any part of a file you scan or recover. Two Google services are built in:

• Firebase Analytics records anonymous usage events — for example, that a scan finished or a repair succeeded — together with a device model and country. These events never include your file names, the contents of your files, or how many personal files you have.
• Firebase Crashlytics records crash reports containing device model, operating system version and a technical stack trace, so faults can be fixed. These never include your file names or file contents.

A third Google service is used for advertising:

• Google AdMob serves ads to people who have not subscribed. To serve them, Google's SDK may collect and use device information and identifiers such as the Advertising ID. This is standard third-party ad behaviour and is entirely independent of the files you scan or recover — no part of any file is ever sent anywhere.

• In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland you are shown a consent form before any ad is requested, and you can change that choice at any time from the ad privacy options inside the app.

• You can reset or limit your Advertising ID in your device settings.

Ads appear only while browsing — never during a scan, never during a repair, and never over a recovered file. Subscribers see no ads at all.

Permissions we use

• File access — you pick every source yourself through the Android system picker. The app is never granted permission to browse your storage on its own, and it only ever sees what you choose. It does not request the "All files access" permission.
• USB device access — when you attach a card reader, Android asks you for permission for that specific device, each time. The app cannot reach a reader you have not approved, and it reads only.
• INTERNET — used only for crash reporting, anonymous analytics and purchase verification. It is not used to upload your files; recovery and repair work with no network at all.

Subscriptions

Scanning a card, seeing the full list of what was found, and opening one photo and one video in full are free. A subscription unlocks recovering and saving everything else and removes all ads; alternatively you can watch a short rewarded ad to recover one extra file. Subscriptions are processed by Google Play Billing — we never receive or store your payment details. The app records only, on your own device, whether your subscription is active. You can manage or cancel it at any time in the Google Play Store under Subscriptions.

Children

The app is a general-purpose utility, is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your rights

Because the app stores no personal data on our side, there is nothing of yours for us to export or delete. Uninstalling the app removes everything it kept on your device. To opt out of anonymous analytics and crash reporting, uninstall the app or disable usage & diagnostics data sharing in your Android settings.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy; changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
