Privacy Policy

Video Repair rebuilds the index of MP4 and MOV recordings that stop playing after a camera loses power mid-recording. Your privacy is the core of this app: every part of the repair happens on your device. This policy explains what data is and isn't handled.

Your videos never leave your device

Reading a damaged file, rebuilding its index and writing the repaired copy are performed 100% locally on your phone. The app does not upload, transmit, or store your videos on any server. We never see your footage. There is no account and no sign-in, and there is no server for a video to be sent to.

The repaired file is written into the app's own private storage so you can preview it before deciding. It is deleted when you start another repair or leave the result screen. Nothing is written to your gallery unless you tap Save. The original file you selected is never modified or deleted.

Data we collect

The app itself collects no personal information, and it never reads your file names or file contents off the device. Two Google services are built in:

• Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics record anonymous usage events (for example, that a repair finished) and crash reports containing device model, operating system version and a technical stack trace. These never include your file names or the contents of your videos.
• Google AdMob serves ads to users who have not purchased the unlock — see below.

Permissions we use

• File access — you pick every file yourself through the Android system picker. The app is never granted permission to browse your storage, and it only ever sees the two files you choose.
• INTERNET — used only for ads, the consent form and purchase verification. It is not used to upload your videos; the repair works with no network at all.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version shows ads via Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google's SDK may collect and use device information and identifiers (such as the Advertising ID). This is standard third-party ad behaviour and is independent of your videos.

• In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland you are shown a consent form before any ad is requested. You can change that choice at any time from Settings → Ad privacy options inside the app.

• You can reset or limit your Advertising ID in your device settings.

In-app purchases

Checking a file, repairing it and previewing the result are free. A single one-time purchase unlocks saving the repaired video. It is processed by Google Play Billing — we never receive or store your payment details. The app only records, on your own device, whether the purchase completed.

Children

The app is a general-purpose utility, is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy; changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
