Privacy Policy
Your videos never leave your computer
Video Repair reads the video you choose, and any working video you add from the same camera, only to rebuild the broken file. Reading, checking and repairing are performed entirely on your PC. The program does not upload, transmit or store your videos, their file names or their folders on any server. We never see them. There is no account and no cloud storage.
Your original file is never changed
The broken video is only read. While you preview a repair, the unsaved result is kept in a
hidden .video-repair folder beside your video (or, when that folder cannot be
written, in %LOCALAPPDATA%\VideoRepair\work). It is deleted when you save it or
start another video. If the program is closed first, the left-over copy is deleted automatically
once it is an hour old, the next time the program starts or opens a video from that folder. The
repaired video you save is a new file, written where you choose.
Data we collect
None. The program contains no analytics, no crash reporting and no advertising, and it does not send anything about you, your computer or your videos to us or to anyone else.
The one network call: checking a licence key
Repairing and previewing work without a network connection. When you enter a licence key, or
save a video with a single-video key, the program sends that key and the product it belongs to
to Gumroad's licence service (api.gumroad.com) to check that it is valid, has not
been refunded and, for a single-video key, has not been used before. A full licence is checked
again in the background every few days while you are online. Nothing about your videos is part
of that request. Gumroad's handling of it is described in

What stays on your computer
- Your language and theme choice.
- Your licence state: the key, the masked e-mail address Gumroad returns with it (for
example
m***@example.com), when it was last checked, and, for single-video keys, a one-way fingerprint of the video the key paid for — so the same video can be saved again. This record is sealed with an identifier of your Windows installation so it cannot be copied to another computer; that identifier is used on your computer only and is never sent.
All of it lives in the program's settings under your Windows user profile and can be removed
by uninstalling the program and deleting its folder in %APPDATA%\NasrTech.
Purchases
Repairing and watching the result are free. Saving is paid: $9 for one video, or a one-time payment for every video. Payments are made on Gumroad's website, in your browser — the program never sees or stores your payment details. It is not a subscription.
Children
The program is a general-purpose utility, is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
Because the program stores no personal data on our side, there is nothing of yours for us to export or delete. Your purchase records are held by Gumroad; you can ask them, or us, about them at any time.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy; changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. If a future version adds anything that sends data, this page will say so before that version is released.
