Generate your sitemap

Paste your page URLs (or extract them from a page), set options, and download sitemap.xml, an HTML sitemap, and robots.txt.

Your sitemap.xml will appear here as you add URLs.

How to generate a sitemap

1

Add your URLs

Paste your page URLs one per line, or paste a page's HTML and let the tool extract the links it finds. Set a base URL to resolve relative paths.

2

Set the options

Pick a change frequency, a lastmod date, and a priority — or use auto-priority, which scores your homepage highest and deeper pages lower. Turn on dedupe and sort if you like.

3

Copy or download

Switch between XML, HTML and robots.txt output, then copy it or download sitemap.xml. Upload it to your site root and submit the URL in Google Search Console.

What is a sitemap and why does it matter?

A sitemap is a list of the important pages on your site that helps search engines discover and prioritize them for crawling — especially valuable for large sites, new domains, and pages with few internal links. The XML version follows the sitemaps.org protocol that Google, Bing and others expect, with urlset, loc, lastmod, changefreq and priority tags.

This generator also produces a human-readable HTML sitemap page (great for visitors and internal linking) and a robots.txt snippet with a Sitemap: line so crawlers can find your sitemap automatically.

Honest about how it works

Because browsers cannot fetch pages from other domains (a security rule called CORS), this tool does not crawl a website from a server. Instead, you provide the URLs — by pasting your list, or by pasting a page's HTML so it can extract the links inside. That keeps everything private (nothing is uploaded) and puts you in full control of exactly which pages are included.

Keep a single sitemap under 50,000 URLs and 50 MB, list only canonical pages you want indexed, and reference the file from your robots.txt. Need other free tools? Try the Privacy Policy Generator or the Word Counter.

Frequently asked questions

Does this sitemap generator crawl my website?

No. Browsers cannot fetch pages from other domains because of CORS, so it does not crawl your site from a server. You provide the URLs by pasting your list, or by pasting a page's HTML so the tool can extract its links. This keeps everything private and 100% in your browser.

Is the generated XML sitemap valid for Google?

Yes. The output follows the sitemaps.org XML protocol with a proper urlset namespace and valid loc, lastmod, changefreq and priority tags. Save it as sitemap.xml at your site root and submit the URL in Google Search Console's Sitemaps report.

What do change frequency and priority do?

They are hints: changefreq suggests how often a page changes, and priority (0.0–1.0) signals a page's relative importance on your own site. Search engines may ignore them. Auto-priority assigns values by URL depth, so your homepage scores highest.

Can I make an HTML sitemap and robots.txt too?

Yes. Switch the output tab to HTML for a human-readable sitemap page, or to robots.txt for a snippet with a Sitemap: line pointing to your sitemap.xml. You can download each one.

How many URLs can a sitemap have?

A single sitemap is limited to 50,000 URLs and 50 MB uncompressed. If you have more, split them into multiple sitemaps and list them in a sitemap index. This tool caps at 50,000 and warns you if you go over.

Is it free and private?

Yes — completely free, no sign-up, and 100% in your browser. Your URL list and pasted HTML never leave your device.
