Repair the clip
- Copy the broken clip from the card's
DCIMfolder to your computer. - Copy one clip that plays as well, recorded on the same camera with the same file type, frame size, frame rate and quality setting.
- Open the broken clip in the checker on this page. It runs in your browser and uploads nothing.
- If the checker asks for a sample, give it the clip that plays. It reads that clip's settings and copies no picture or sound from it.
- Watch the free 15-second preview. Download the full video for $4.99 or with a plan; if it doesn't play, write to support@nasrtech.dev and we'll look at it with you.
What isn't covered
N-RAW and ProRes RAW recordings (.NEV and RAW .MOV from the Z8, Z9 and others) aren't MP4 or MOV in the sense the checker reads, and it can't repair them. Nikon's ProRes 422 HQ MOV isn't H.264 or H.265 and isn't supported either.
What we can claim
We haven't had a Nikon file to test, so we don't claim a Nikon result. The engine has been proven frame for frame on GoPro, DJI, RunCam, 70mai, Tesla and Samsung recordings in H.264 and H.265, and a Nikon H.264 or H.265 MOV is the same kind of file. Nikon often records LPCM sound in MOV, which we haven't proven yet. The free check and preview show you your own footage, and your sound if it came back, before any payment.
What a user wrote
"Works great. €5 once for an unlock, with a preview first. Very happy, and it's clearly cheaper and simpler than all the other alternatives." (Google Play review in German, our translation, September 2026, of the Video Repair app for Android, same engine; prices have changed since)
Other ways

- Stellar Repair for Video (Windows and Mac) lists MOV and MP4; its Standard edition is $49.99 on an offer ending 16 November 2026 (stellarinfo.com, checked 2 November 2026).
