What is in the model

Lymph nodes are named and studied in groups, so most parts here are named node groups (for example the axillary nodes) rather than single nodes.

Head

26 parts

For example: Retropharyngeal nodes Nodi retropharyngei, Occipital nodes Nodi occipitales, Nasolabial node Nodus nasolabialis

Neck

15 parts

For example: Pretracheal nodes Nodi pretracheales, Thyroid nodes Nodi thyreoidei, Anterior inferior jugular nodes Nodi jugulares inferiores anteriores

Axillary nodes

10 parts

For example: Posterior axillary nodes Nodi axillares posteriores nodi subscapulares, Anterior axillary nodes Nodi axillares anteriores nodi pectorales, Apical axillary nodes Nodi axillares apicales

Nodes of the chest

8 parts

For example: Superior tracheobronchial nodes Nodi tracheobronchiales superiores, Prepericardial nodes Nodi prepericadiaci, Lateral pericardial nodes Nodi pericardiaci laterales

Iliac and inguinal nodes

17 parts

For example: Medial common iliac nodes Nodi iliaci communes mediales, Lateral common iliac nodes Nodi iliaci communes laterales, Intermediate common iliac nodes Nodi iliaci communes intermedii

Spleen and thymus

3 parts

For example: Left lobe of thymus Lobus thymi sinistri, Right lobe of thymus Lobus thymi dextri, Spleen Lien

How to study it here

  1. 1

    Start in the neck

Turn to the side of the neck and tap the jugular, pretracheal and thyroid nodes.

  2. 2

Place the nodes in the body

Switch on Skeleton or Organs to see where each group of nodes sits.

  3. 3

    Quiz yourself

Quiz asks you to find a named node group. A wrong tap tells you which group you picked.

Questions

Questions people ask

Does it include the spleen and thymus?
Yes. The spleen and the two lobes of the thymus are in the lymphoid system.
Why are most parts node groups?
Single lymph nodes are not named one by one. Anatomy names them as groups, such as the axillary or inguinal nodes, and the model follows that.
Is it free?
Yes. All eight systems are free, with no sign-up and no card.
